The "Forget-me-not" pattern is a painted in a delicate green lustre with forget-me-nots and the eye of the peacock feather in 24 karat burnished gold. Grandmother Ida began painting this pattern as a dresser set in 1912. It wasn't until 1915 that she finished it. It is my thought that she completed the set while expecting the birth of her third child, my Aunt Mary, born November 29, 1915!
The first piece that we are reproducing in the "Forget-Me-Not" pattern was painted on a 4 1/2 inch tall white ware vase stamped "Noritake Nippon". Grandmother Ida only painted two pieces of whiteware from Noritake. The remaining pieces of her work were painted on Rosenthal, limouge, Bavarian, to name a few stamps.
